About the Author

I suppose the way to do this is to have someone else write about me, but they’d never get it right. My name is Ken Burnett. I tell stories about the stories in my life. Some of them are perfectly remembered, some are memories of memories, some are pure fantasy based on supposed events. Nothing earth-shattering, mostly how I bumped my knee or twisted an ankle. Sometimes there’s a moral, sometimes there’s surprise.

Ken Burnett 2017

I was an Air Force Brat. I moved a lot when I was a kid; got to see more of the world than most. I lived in the Denver area for seven years in four different houses. I lived in Arkansas when I was a baby, and again when I was thirty. I lived in Japan when I was pre-school and Mississippi, when I was in high school after a stint in the Taipei area of Taiwan when my voice got lower and I started smokin’ in the boy’s room.

I spent most of my adult life working as a salesman of one kind or another, but mostly I sold cars. I spent time telling people what to do, teaching them how I did it, and running the show at a few car dealerships. I like Hondas. I like people and I tell stories. And I moved a lot, married a few times, and had a slew of kids. I’m good with that, and my kids are jewels, everyone. They have different facets and shine differently, but bright just the same. And a granddaughter who lights up my life.

I also play music…in bands. I play a lot on stage and have come to tell many of my stories in verse set to music with my own songs. I play mandolin. I tune it, not so’s you’d notice sometimes, but I try.

But mostly I tell stories, up til’ now, with my mouth. But I became acquainted with word processors and now I write them, one finger at a time, but with both hands, and mostly I spell the words right.  Now I am an author. Pretty proud of my creation, hope you buy my book. Hope you enjoy it. Tell a friend.

See you at the show!
